Los Angeles Philharmonic plays the War Requiem composed by Benjamin Britten in 1962 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

This concert is conducted by Lorin Maazel and Lionel Bringuier and features the voices of soprano Nancy Gustafson, tenor Vale Rideout and baritone Ian Greenlaw, together with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Children's Chorus

Dutch master violinist and conductor, André Rieu, is widely credited for reinvigorating the waltz music category with his melodramatic stage performances and on stage aura.

Raised in a musical family (his father was also a conductor), his fascination with orchestra began at an early age leading to his enrolment at the "Conservatoire Royal" in Liège and in the Conservatorium Maastricht where he majored in the violin.

The Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with the Civic Dance Center will celebrate their 30th anniversary of performing Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker together.

The beautiful music of Tchaikovsky and magical dancing combine to bring the story of the Nutcracker to life at the Rabobank Arena for three performances in December.

Each concert features 60 to 80 highly skilled, professional musicians employed by the Symphony.

Twelve Girls Band at the Greek Theater

Twelve Girls Band


The famous Chinese performers, Twelve Girls Band, will perform at LA's Greek Theatre in October 2007.

The band consists of twelve on-stage female artists using traditional Chinese instruments such as the guzheng, erhu, yangqin etc. to play both traditional Chinese and Western songs.

All the performers were trained at the China Academy of Music, the Chinese National Orchestra, and the Central Conservatory of Music and were recently invited to perform on the Chinese leg of Live Earth in Shanghai.

Their popularity is immense in Japan as well as other parts of Asia.

The Greek Theatre is an award-winning outdoor theatre in Los Angeles, nestled in the picturesque tree-enclosed setting of Griffith Park. This historic entertainment venue has played host to some of the biggest names in entertainment, from pop to classical, reggae to rock.
