The International Orchid Show and Sale is a three-day event taking place at the Orange County Fairgrounds in February.

Stunning exhibits featuring a wide array of orchid varieties - both rare and well-known - are offered for sale along with useful Orchid growing seminars and workshops throughout the day. Other highlights include Orchid Society-judged show, guided tours, and a sales pavilion like no other.

Japanese calligraphy


This exhibition organized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art features stunning Japanese calligraphy and imagery from the three main groups of Japanese artists for whom calligraphy became a central means of expression: Zen and other Buddhist monks, literati, who modeled themselves after the educated Chinese elite, and aristocrats of the imperial line, who bore the responsibility for maintaining authentic Japanese artistic principles.

Calligraphy is one of the highest forms of artistry according to Chinese and Japanese aesthetics and can reveal the character of the writer.

In an exclusive exhibition, the 'LA Vida Lowrider: Cruising The City Of Angels' at the Petersen celebrates lowrider cars, people, and culture, and the city that inspires so many, both nationally and internationally.

The word 'lowrider' is used to describe a car that is customized primarily to be low to the ground, usually containing a hydraulic setup for adjusting ride height, with a fantastic candy paint job, chrome features, and customized upholstery.

This exhibition is on at the Petersen Automotive Museum from now until June 8, 2008.
