Witness a display of youthful exuberance when the Performing Arts Academy of John Marshall High School returns to the Greek Theatre for the fifth consecutive year with their orchestra.

Both classic and modern music including Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto # 3, Antonio Vivaldi’s Autumn from The Four Seasons will be performed before the drama department takes to the stage to perform excerpts from Shakespeare's MacBeth and The Battle of the Garage Bands final.

Battleground Earth Benefit for Griffith Park


The season finale benefit concert of Battleground Earth takes place at The Greek Theatre on May 28.

Battleground Earth challenges hip hop superstar Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and rock god Tommy Lee to battle against the toxic forces destroying mother earth as they travel across the country on a 10-episode tour premiering this August. Throughout the tour they battle to get the word out about the state of the environment. This Rap n’ Roll battle culminates in a green carpet benefit concert in LA.

Charlie Wilson and The Gap Band will open The Greek Theatre’s 2008 concert season on May 9 by bringing their legendary R&B funk and soul to the stage.

Wilson is an American R&B/soul singer and the lead vocalist for the famous 70s Gap Band - their heavily-charged dance anthems such as “You Dropped the Bomb on Me,” “Yearning for Your Love,” and “Party Train,” among others were hugely popular back in the day. The band is comprised of brothers Charlie, Ronnie and Robert Wilson who have remained together, enduring the good with the bad through the years.

Special guests for the evening include Keith Sweat, One Way featuring Al Hudson and The Emotions.

The Los Angeles Latin Jazz Festival will play the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles for an incredible night of music on Saturday, May 10th.

Headlining this year’s event is pianist, musician and nine-time Grammy-Award winner Eddie Palmieri - one of the most beloved Latin Jazz and Classic Salsa artists throughout the world for over fifty years. He will be performing his big band arrangements of his famous original compositions as well as the classic West Coast favorites (for listening and dancing) compositions like Vamonos pal Monte, Azucar pa Ti, Puerto Rico and Pa la Ocha Tambor among others.
