Superstars in their native Japan, The Yoshida Brothers are best known for their muscular reinvention of the ancient three-stringed instrument.
In a fusion of ancient and modern Japan - the brothers wear formal, ceremonial attire of kimonos but sports dyed light brown hair - the young Tsugaru-shamisen virtuosos will be playing the El Rey this month.
