Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles



The Museum of Contemporary Art and The Geffen Contemporary of Los Angeles is the only museum in the city devoted exclusively to contemporary art.

It was founded in 1979 and in this time, has developed one of the nation's most renowned permanent collections with over 5,000 works which visitors can have access to via an ambitious program of exhibitions, collection, education, and publication.

The museum is housed in three unique facilities: MOCA Grand Avenue, The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, and MOCA Pacific Design Center.

Inside Architecture


Inside Architecture examines the fascination artists have with interior spaces and the range of ways they have chosen to depict or represent both the public and private places inside buildings.

The exhibition will include drawings, paintings, and photographs by artists Kirsten Everberg, David Hockney, Luisa Lambri, Richard Prince, Paul Sietsema, Thomas Struth, and Paul Winstanley.

Weiner is one of the key figures associated with the emergence and foundations of conceptual art in the 1960s, and this exhibition provides a comprehensive examination of his remarkable and cohesive oeuvre, assembling key selections and bodies of work from throughout his 40-year career.

Black Panter Emory Douglas


The 'Black Panther: The Revolutionary Art of Emory Douglas' exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art traces the graphic art made he made while working as minister of culture for the Black Panther Party from 1967 until its discontinuation in the early 1980s.

The exhibit includes approximately 150 of Douglas's most influential works, which serve as a testament to the efficacy of visual art to communicate a political position.

Takashi Murakami is one of the most internationally acclaimed artists to emerge from Asia in the postwar era.

The highly talented Japanese artist effortlessly navigates between the worlds of fine art and popular culture and is best known for his cartoon-like, "superflat" style which is largely credited for the rejuvenation of the contemporary art scene in Japan.

Murakami-san is also well known in the fashion world for his collaboration work with luxury French fashion house and leather goods brand, Louis Vuitton.
