The annual Los Angeles Marathon is back for 2008 and features a 26.2 mile course through the multi-cultural heart of the city. The following is the Start Times and Locations for this year:

Acura L.A. Marathon Bike Tour – 5:45 am – Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

5K Run/Walk – 7:15 am – Exposition Park at 39th & Figueroa

L.A. Marathon Hand Crank Wheelchairs – 7:45am – Universal Studios Hollywood

Wheelchair Race - 7:50am

Marathon Start - 8:15 am

Pro Women Challenge start time – TBD

Toyota Grand Prix Long Beach

The season opener for the Champ Car World Series returns to Long Beach this year after having been in Las Vegas last year. This three-day series of races is expected to be attended by more than 200,000 people which includes the Toyota Pro/Celebrity race on April 18, the American Le Mans Series race on April 19 and the Toyota Grand Prix (Champ Car race) on April 20.

Racing fans will also have the opportunity to visit the Lifestyle Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center. Over 150 displays will feature the latest in auto, recreation, travel and entertainment products and services, and a new showcase for Green Technology will feature hybrid, electric and bio-diesel cars as well as energy-saving home products.

April 18 - 20, 2008.

Boxing: Fernando Vargas v. Ricardo Mayorga

"The Aztec Warrior" Fernando Vargas will go toe-to-toe with former WBA/WBC Welterweight champion and WBC Junior Middleweight champion Ricardo Mayorga at the Staples Center in what will be the final fight of his career.

At the first official press conference for the fight, Mayorga said some offensive things towards Vargas and attempted to slap him. Vargas immediately jumped up from his seat and retaliated with punches and a brawl broke out between the two fighers' camps.

Expect a lot of fireworks at this fight!

WWE Smackdown at the Rabobank Arena
