Nightwish, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the symphonic metal genre, will be touring the US in September in support of their album Dark Passion Play.

The Finnish operatic metal band is renowned for their powerful keyboard tones, soaring symphony arrangements reminiscent of classic film scores, and their distinct combination of seductive, emotional and operatic vocals and gallant guitar melodies.

The band's first single, "The Carpenter" (1997) and debut album Angels Fall First launched them into the local public eye but it was their subsequent albums, Oceanborn (1998) and Wishmaster (2000) which garnered international attention and fame.
